Future Plans of Tata - JLR

Future Plans of Tata - JLR
Tata Motors plans to make a lot of enhancements in their design and engineering techniques to match the German companies. There are special plans to improvise the Tata Nano, Indica and Indigo variants with the help of JLR design research team and to ensure that it can be offered at the current price but with better safety features. Since the current demand for utility vehicles (UV) is higher, they will be doing intense research in the SUV range. Tata Safari Stormme is already a great success in the market. They will also be focussing on improvising the Tata Sumo as well as the Aria. For more information on the evolution of the Tata and JLR brand, you can look up the following links:

Electric Car Development
A lot of automotive companies today have been trying to make a niche in the market by coming up with electric cars that can be a great relief from the soaring petrol prices. Tata motors displayed one such electric car named the Tata Megapixel at the 82nd Geneva Auto Show. Some of the older models like Indica e-Vista electric version were also showcased in the 79th Geneva auto show. This car works on the concept of REEV (Range Extended Electric vehicle) with four motors on each wheel and a performance of 100km under battery only power. This car can be charged over an induction pad. They also have a collaboration with Dassault systems to make an electric car called eMO at 10 lakhs. Similarly, Jagaur has a concept car called the CX-75 priced at £200,000. The main constraints with electric cars is the cost of production, non-availability of charging points( not as common as finding a fuelling station) and low performance in long distance drives. Pictures of the Tata Megapixel are shown below.
